critical means to judge

  Learn to Read, Write and Think Critically

Q: WHAT IS A CRITICAL PERSPECTIVE?

A: TAKING A CRITICAL PERSPECTIVE INVOLVES ADOPTING A VIEWPOINT THAT ASKS QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RATIONALE AND LEGITIMACY OF SOMETHING.

People are generally disinclined to recognise the degree to which they do not think critically.  The vast majority of People tend to retreat to a simplistic approach (to thinking), that does not lay an appropriate foundation for higher level critical thought, or they dismiss the need for any new learning at all.

Most People take offense at the mere suggestion that they lack skill in the area of Critical thinking.  This of course provides a continued obstacle to them developing their potential ability to learn to think critically, or critically think.

To the extent that People lack Critical Thinking skills, they perceive that those who possess such ability as "prejudiced", "close-minded", "overly academic", "negative", and/or "nit-picky" etc.

… The ability to Think Critically is a matter of degree. No one is without any Critical Thinking skills whatsoever, and no one has them so fully that there are no areas in which uncritical thinking is dominant.  Open-mindedness may be proper, but it is not a "natural" state of being or disposition.

As Previously Iterated:

In this coming year (2015);

our medium to long term aim, would be to work only and exclusively with People (Men and Women), that have taken part in a set of Tutorials designed to facilitate them in learning to Read, Write and Think Critically.

What we have observed is that most People we engage with, are already and/or are becoming dependent and/or co-dependent upon us to make sure that "their letters", "their documents" and "their stuff" is sufficiently and critically well written and/or drafted ... which negates their responsibility to themselves to know about their cases and/or issues.

From this point forward;

the burden of responsibility for making sure that your "stuff" is sufficiently and critically well written will lay firmly upon your shoulders, and not the shoulders of anyone else.

In most cases, we end up knowing more about the matter/case in hand, than the People that it has been directed to or at. That situtation/scenario has come to an end.

This does not mean to say we will leave anyone "high and dry"

Everyone that we have previously worked with, are currently working with, or may work with in the future can avail of the opportunity to learn to "Critically Read, Write and Think" for themselves.

No Man or Woman is an Island ...

rather than being or remaining dependent and/or co-dependent upon another ... You, Me, We, all of us should be aiming to be inter-dependant, wherein if necessary you have got the Critical skills and ability to row your own boat and do things alone, and equally you have access to a group or corum of People who can also "Read, Write and Think Critically", whom you can engage with on an equal footing and basis, when and if required or necessary.

WE CANNOT stress the importance of this enough:

Please do not delay in attending a set of Tutorials ... By default the primary question that we will lead with in all future discussions, talks, chats, meetings etc. with People is: "Have you participated in a set of Reading, Writing, Thinking Tutorials"?

A SIMPLE NO or YES:

Should the answer be NO, then you will be directed to do so in order to further the matter/issue in hand. Should the answer be YES, then we will be on the same page, and can continue on a solid footing.

THE THREE TUTORIALS:

Everyone that we have worked with, or are currently working with will be afforded the time and grace to do the said Tutorials. The First set of which commences on Tuesday 24th. February 2015 (6pm to 8pm), and runs on for the folowing two Tuesdays thereafter (inclusive).
