Good On You, Greece—–But Don't Waver Now (Part 2)

--Its all going to blow and it should. The entire European mess has been concocted by statist politicians and policy apparatchiks who falsely and arrogantly believe they can defy the laws of markets, sound money and fiscal rectitude indefinitely.
--Indeed, if the Greeks do not waver after a successful rejection of the status quo on Sunday they will not need to feel lonesome about returning to the Drachma. The Italian lira, Spanish peseta, Portuguese escudo, the French franc and countless more will be back in short order.
Think of that. The IMF out of business. Merkel and Brussels gone. The Bundesbank and D-mark restored. The Keynesian money printers discredited. The front-runners and speculators in the casino carried out on their shields.
Now that's a referendum that the world desperately needs.

New Scientific Review: 'No Evidence' Water Fluoridation Prevents Cavities

--Fast forward to April of 2015, and finally the federal government decides to lower fluoride levels for the first time in 50 years. A monumental event in the history of water fluoridation and public health.
Now, in June of 2015, another landmark study has hit: sodium fluoride in the water supply isn't even preventing cavities! Now is the time to make this a well-known study, instead of a footnote buried within the latest news feed. After all, it's huge news that this information is finally being displayed by the mainstream media after years of anti-fluoride activists enduring the label 'conspiracy theorist.
--Thomas Zoeller, a scientist at UMass-Amherst who played a role in the study, breaks it down:
"I had assumed because of everything I'd heard that water fluoridation reduces cavities but I was completely amazed by the lack of evidence," he says. "My prior view was completely reversed."

--When I finally bought a Gen 1 scope that could double as a rifle sight, I tried it out and instantly sent it back to recover my $350. Then I stumbled across a little CMOS monocular IR camera setup for kids that really can see in complete darkness for a paltry sum. Read on before you blow this idea off completely. I bought the Jakks Pacific Spynet Night Vision goggles on Woot.com for $25 about two years ago. I figured I'd give it a try, and what I got amazed me.
--Want to use it hands-free? There is a second version called the Eyeclops that works exactly the same, but it has straps for head mounting, freeing up both hands. It ranges from $70-$100, and there are plenty listed on eBay. Both units use four AA batteries and provide hours of use from one set. My Sanyo eneloops worked great in mine.

--In one swoop, on June 22, 2015, a divided U.S. Supreme Court handed down three consecutive rulings affirming the right of raisin farmers, hotel owners and prison inmates. However, this push back against government abuse, government snooping and government theft only came about because some determined citizens stood up and took a stand against tyranny.
The three cases respectively deal with the government's confiscation of agricultural crops without any guarantee or promise of payment (Horne v. U.S. Department of Agriculture); the practice of police gaining unfettered access to motel and hotel guest registries (City of Los Angeles v. Patel); and the use of tasers and excessive force by prison officials (Kingsley v. Hendrickson).

--As strong as the practical arguments against the death penalty are, the moral case is much stronger. Since it is impossible to develop an error-free death penalty system, those who support the death penalty are embracing the idea that the government should be able to execute innocent people for the "greater good." The idea that the government should be able to force individuals to sacrifice their right to life for imaginary gains in personal safety is even more dangerous to liberty than the idea that the government should be able to force individuals to sacrifice their property rights for imaginary gains in economic security.
