"Emily Cassidy, an (EWG) research analyst who authored the report, found that in the last 20 years, yields of both GE corn and soy have been no different from traditionally bred corn and soy grown in western Europe, where GE crops are banned. Additionally, a recent case study in Africa found that crops that were crossbred for drought tolerance using traditional techniques improved yields 30 percent more than GE varieties, she wrote.
"The report also said that in the two decades that GE crops have been a mainstay in conventional agriculture, they "have not substantially improved global food security" and have instead increased the use of toxic herbicides and led to herbicide-resistant "superweeds." (FYI: superweeds have spread to more than 60 million acres of U.S. farmland, wreaking environmental and economic havoc along the way).
"She pointed out that while corn and soybeans take up the vast majority (about 80 percent) of global land devoted to growing GE crops, they are not even used to feed people but instead as animal feed or fuel."

If I was a psychotic social engineer, working hard to destroy "America," I would love this video. Why? Because this is part of their divide-and-conquer paradigm...get people hysterically upset about an "enemy" (liberal, terrorist, etc.), and use that hysteria to drive the target population back into supporting the real enemy.
In short: While we're herded into our "us-VS-them" box, and as we're enjoying our sense of moral and intellectual superiority, the sociopaths that are using government to enslave us are safe. They can rest assured that "Left and Right" will both have a new target for their outrage. (And both will instinctively seek "government representatives" that promise to contain the threat.)
This process only perpetuates / empowers the corrupt system. People become apologists for the crimes advocated and committed by "their side" because they believe "their side" is trying to protect them. Sure, some of the puppets might have good intentions, but "the experts / social engineers" are using those puppets to serve other ends.

The recent issue of the "Brexit" vote demonstrated that the European Union, like the Soviet Union and the American union, sought (and seeks) a monopoly of political power. And the object of monopoly in any field, Chodorov warned, is "to compel the customer to accept the services of the monopolist on his own terms." The more monopolistic and centralized government becomes, the more it can dictate to its subjects and treat them like tax slaves.
--The principles of peaceful secession (or threats thereof) and nullification are the essence of self -determination. They are the ultimate expressions of "the consent of the governed" from which all just powers of government are derived, as Jefferson eloquently stated in the Declaration of Independence. China has gamified being an obedient citizen with the creation of Sesame Credit. The game links to your social network and gives you a score for doing things that the government approves of, but it also reduces that score for doing things the government disapproves of. Even your friends' scores affect your own, and being friends with people who have a low score will drag your score down as well. This insidious system applies social pressure on people to ostracize their friends with lower scores, either forcing those friends to change their ways or effectively quarantining their rebellious ideas.

COMMENT: BBC claims that the company has denied gathering data via social media...sure. "Brave New World" indeed.
Using the current Chinese model outlined above, the enthusiastic supporters of Mao, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot (etc.), would have received the greatest amount of "social credit" in their respective tyrannies.
Maybe we should create a similar game; one that uses adherence to the non-aggression principle (the opposite of blind obedience to the state), as the basis for determining your "social credit" score.

By adding this bacteria species back to the guts of affected mice, the researchers were able to reverse some of their behavioral deficits, which are reminiscent of symptoms of autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) in humans. The investigators are now looking to explore the effects of probiotics on neurodevelopmental disorders in future work.
