Georgia governor signs 'unprecedented' bill expanding gun rights

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal on Wednesday signed legislation significantly expanding gun rights in the state.
The bill, described by the National Rifle Association's lobbying arm as "the most comprehensive pro-gun reform legislation introduced in recent state history," expands the scope of public places where licensed owners are allowed to carry firearms.
The bill makes several changes to state law. It allows those with a license to carry to bring a gun into a bar without restriction and into some government buildings that don't have certain security measures. It also allows religious leaders to decide whether it's OK for a person with a carry license to bring a gun into their place of worship.
Democrats resisted the proposal, although they conceded it would pass in the GOP-dominated House of Representatives. They argued that allowing guns in more places will not make society safer and may lead to more deaths.

COMMENT: Just curious: What would happen if you or I went to a neighbor's property and killed their dog because it was barking at us? Would it be OK? My guess is no. And why? Because you shouldn't be able to kill a member of somebody's family just because you "feel threatened."
I'm glad this cop got fired...it could have been worse. There is simply no excuse for coming into somebody's life and needlessly traumatizing them like this. If you're so damn afraid of dogs (even SMALL dogs), carry pepper spray.

At least 4 Chengguan, the most hated police-inspectors in China, were beaten to death by angry people in Cangnan County of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province (located in the industrial southeast), after they killed a man with a hammer. The police-inspectors hit the man with a hammer until he started to vomit blood, because he was trying to take pictures of their violence towards a woman, a street vendor. The man was rushed to hospital, but died on the way.

Alaska's point is that Gawker is a kind of gatekeeper for the mainstream media, and by publishing this article before someone else does, Gawker editors can "spin" it in the appropriate direction.
The appropriate direction, of course, is one of subdued mockery and disbelief. But reading the article, one gets the feeling that age-old "damage control" revolving around denouncing someone as a "conspiracy nut" is just not as effective as it used to be.
In this Era of the Internet, the power elite has been exposed as never before. It is probably safe to say that never has a specific elite group been deconstructed with such vehemence and, on occasion, in a real-time context.
In the modern world, it is necessary for ruling classes to remain opaque to the ruled in the modern demos. But this is not happening anymore. There will be ramifications.
The myth that is propagated is that democracy determines who leads and that, therefore, average people are picking the personalities to run the system. If what we call directed history becomes too obvious, then the system begins to collapse. In fact, this is exactly what is happening.

March 2014: Reid Breaks Ground for Nevada Solar Farm Near Bundy Ranch

The senator's plan for solar farms in Nevada wasn't just limited to the shelved project near Laughlin.
--Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who was exposed last Friday as the mastermind behind the Bureau of Land Management's persecution of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, can be seen in this March 2014 photo breaking ground for a new solar farm near the Bundy Ranch, emphasizing that the senator's plan for solar projects in Nevada wasn't just limited to the shelved solar farm near Laughlin.
--The development of solar farms just like this one is exactly why Sen. Reid was using the BLM, whose director is Reid's former senior advisor, to push Bundy out of the Gold Butte area his family has worked for over 140 years.
As we revealed last Friday in an article that became the #1 news story in the world for 24 hours, the BLM specifically stated that it wanted Bundy and his cattle out of the area as part of the agency's "regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone."
The BLM attempted a cover-up by deleting documents exposing the plan from its web site, but fortunately contributors at the Free Republic were able to save them for posterity.
