Reality Check: Ted Cruz Says Middle East Was Better Off Before War On Terror
Source: TruthInMedia.com
--"Was the world in fact a better place the middle east a better place when Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein was in power and when Assad wasn't fighting for his life in Syria?," Cruz asked. "Of course it was. That isn't even a close call."

Well, without question the senator is correct. The Middle East was without question a safer and more secure place under Gaddafi, Hussein and when Assad wasn't fighting for his life. But to really get that point, here are some numbers to consider.

According to reports from our own U.S. government, reports of deaths from terrorism in the Middle East between 2002 and 2014 have increased 4,500 percent.

But lets go a little deeper. Take for instance just the country of Iraq. Before the 2003 U.S. invasion, do you know how many suicide attacks there were in Iraq? None. In the country's history there had never been one. But since the 2003 invasion, there have been 1,892.

New Hampshire Bills Would Require Courts to Inform Jurors of Their Right to Nullify
Source: TenthAmendmentCenter.com
--Jury nullification is the ability to declare someone not guilty in a case, even when it is clear he has violated the law in question, when the law itself is unjust, immoral, or unconstitutional.

This power is one of the most untapped, unknown, and powerful of any at the disposal of ordinary people to stand up to tyranny. In New Hampshire, it is known as the Wentworth instruction, stemming from a case known as State v. Wentworth in which the defendant challenged the jury instructions on what constituted reasonable doubt.

COMMENT: Consider the gravity of these words (taken from the NH Bill):

"...if you find, that the state has proved all of the elements of the offense charged beyond a reasonable doubt, but you find that based upon the facts of this case a guilty verdict will yield an unjust result, you may find the defendant not guilty."

Putin Accuses US Of ISIS Oil Coverup
Source: ZeroHedge.com
--On Saturday, Russia accused the US of participating in a cover-up. "Our colleagues from the State Department and the Pentagon have confirmed that the photo-proof, which we presented at a briefing [on December 2], of the origin and destination of the stolen oil, coming from the areas controlled by the terrorists, is authentic. However, the US claim that they 'don't see the border crossings with tanker trucks crossing the border,' raises a smile, if only, because the photos are still images,"  Major General Igor Konashenkov, a Defense Ministry spokesman said. "We advise the American side to have a look at how the tanker trucks not only drive through checkpoints at the Turkish border, but pass through them without even stopping."

As RT notes, an unnamed US State Department official confirmed to Reuters on Friday that the Russian photos of thousands of oil tanker trucks in Syria were authentic [but] stressed that he hasn't seen "the imagery of the border crossing with trucks crossing the border, and that's because [the US doesn't] believe it exists."

Well, here it is:

CNN's favorite "Mass Shooting Index" is designed to terrorize you
Source: DownsizeDC.org
Today's editorial, by Jim Babka, is designed to be sent to your "representatives" in Congress. You are encouraged to copy and paste this op-ed…

COMMENT: When you see that there have been "355 mass shootings" this year, do you imagine 355 Columbine-type events? Do you imagine 355 events like the recent shootings in California? Is there an actual definition for this term? According to Jim Babka at Downsize DC, "mass shooting" usually means:

"...at least four people are struck, even grazed, by gunfire. That definition includes domestic and gang violence."

"Merely saying there have been 355 mass shootings tells us nothing about the number of shots, shooters, or degree of injury. But the figures are available. In 42% of the incidents, there were zero deaths. One person died in roughly 29% of the incidents, while another 29% involved two or more deaths."

"Now, if you revise the definition to five or more deaths due to gunfire, the number of mass shootings declines to 15. That statistic wouldn't make it to a segment on CNN or The Daily Show."
