FBI INSTRUCTS HIGH SCHOOLS TO INFORM ON "ANTI-GOVERNMENT" STUDENTS

A new FBI initiative based on Britain's "anti-terror" mass surveillance program instructs high schools across America to inform on students who express "anti-government" and "anarchist" political beliefs.
--The FBI considers the Redemption Theory (the abandonment of the gold standard in favor of fiat currency), emancipation "from the responsibilities of being a U.S. citizen, including paying taxes," and "conspiracy theories," including the formation of global government and a police state, as indicators of extremist or sovereign citizen ideology.

COMMENT: So, "extremist ideology" apparently means:
Speaking out against government crimes and conspiracies, expressing a desire to stop funding those crimes and conspiracies, opposing CFR initiatives like "World Order in the 21st Century," and having the "extreme" audacity to point out the obvious: Mass surveillance of citizens IS the defining characteristic of a "police state."

Oathkeeper Sheriff Blocks Feds From Raiding Local Farmer

--"I understand that you have made recent requests to (the farmer) for documents and to appear before a grand jury, and he has had a number of inspections and attempted inspections on his farm within Elkhart County. This is notice that any further attempts to inspect this farm without a warrant signed by a judge, based on probable cause, will result in federal inspectors' removal or arrest for trespassing by my officers or I. In addition, if any further action is taken by the federal government on (the farmer), while he is in Elkhart County, I will expect that you or federal authorities contact my office prior to such action. I will expect you to forward this information to your federal associates, including the FDA."

Surprise! NSA data will soon be used for domestic policing that has nothing to do with terrorism

--This basically formalizes what was already happening under the radar. We've known for a couple of years now that the Drug Enforcement Administration and the IRS were getting information from the NSA. Because that information was obtained without a warrant, the agencies were instructed to engage in "parallel construction" when explaining to courts and defense attorneys how the information had been obtained. If you think parallel construction just sounds like a bureaucratically sterilized way of saying big stinking lie, well, you wouldn't be alone. And it certainly isn't the only time that that national security apparatus has let law enforcement agencies benefit from policies that are supposed to be reserved for terrorism investigations in order to get around the Fourth Amendment, then instructed those law enforcement agencies to misdirect, fudge and outright lie about how they obtained incriminating information — see the Stingray debacle. This isn't just a few rogue agents. The
lying has been a matter of policy. We're now learning that the feds had these agreements with police agencies all over the country, affecting thousands of cases.

Jury Acquits Woman Arrested for Protecting Her Dog From a Cop

Hupp told PINAC her case hinged on her husband's video, which they did not have for weeks after the incident because Cook confiscated the phone, which he was unable to access because it was protected by a password. "Without that video, it's just my word against a state trooper," she said. "Nobody is going to believe my word over law enforcement."

Socialism Has Created a Humanitarian Disaster in Venezuela

Venezuela's accelerating economic meltdown is rapidly turning into a full-fledged humanitarian crisis. For too many in that country, the pervasive shortages of food, medicine, electricity, and other basic goods are making everyday life a nightmare. It is Venezuela's version of the "winter of discontent," except that it has been brewing for much longer and its unfolding consequences are far more frightening.
Margaret Thatcher's dictum that the problem with socialists is that "they always run out of other people's money" faced a unique challenge in Venezuela: during the course of a decade and a half, the government received nearly $1 trillion in oil revenues— the equivalent in today's money of more than seven Marshall Plans. This was enough to mask the effect of hundreds of expropriations, stifling economic controls, and otherwise running the private economy into the ground.

--In 1993, I interviewed C. Philip Liechty, a former senior CIA operations officer in the Jakarta embassy during the invasion of East Timor. He told me: "Suharto was given the green light [by the US] to do what he did. We supplied them with everything they needed [from] M16 rifles [to] US military logistical support ... maybe 200,000 people, almost all of them non-combatants died. When the atrocities began to appear in the CIA reporting, the way they dealt with these was to cover them up as long as possible; and when they couldn't be covered up any longer, they were reported in a watered-down, very generalised way, so that even our own sourcing was sabotaged."
I asked Liechty what would have happened had someone spoken out. "Your career would end," he replied. He said his interview with me was one way of making amends for "how badly I feel".

Long before "The Big Short's" Michael Burry was a household name for his insight into the upcoming subprime crisis of 2006-2007, there were many others among them John Paulson, Kyle Bass, and Corriente Advisors' Mark Hart. Just like Bass, Mark is another Texas-based hedge fund manager who correctly predicted, and profited from, the subprime crisis. He is also an expert on China, and in fact, just last month in the aftermath of the recent Chinese devaluation which roiled markets, he said that "China should weaken its currency by more than 50 percent this year."
