Americans tend to view hyperinflation and shortages as "it can't happen here," kinds of events. But as we've pointed out, Venezuela could serve as a crystal ball for America. In her Mises article, Carmen Elena Dorobăț points out that every government, including the US government, exercises similar control over currency.

The US dollar could be in for a VERY bumpy ride over the next 6 - 12 months and this can HURT you and your family. (Think 2008 collapse on steroids.)
There is a very simple way to protect yourself against this risk: Don't keep all of your "money" in the form of US dollars. Instead, turn some of those dollars into "hard money" (gold or silver bullion). You can easily buy Silver Eagles, silver rounds, Gold Eagles (and other bullion) on Ebay. However, if you're willing to go through the trouble of finding a reputable dealer, you will save some on the price.

GMOs, Herbicides, and Public Health

In our view, the science and the risk assessment supporting the Enlist Duo decision are flawed. The science consisted solely of toxicologic studies commissioned by the herbicide manufacturers in the 1980s and 1990s and never published, not an uncommon practice in U.S. pesticide regulation. These studies predated current knowledge of low-dose, endocrine-mediated, and epigenetic effects and were not designed to detect them. The risk assessment gave little consideration to potential health effects in infants and children, thus contravening federal pesticide law. It failed to consider ecologic impact, such as effects on the monarch butterfly and other pollinators. It considered only pure glyphosate, despite studies showing that formulated glyphosate that contains surfactants and adjuvants is more toxic than the pure compound.
The second new development is the determination by the IARC in 2015 that glyphosate is a "probable human carcinogen"1 and 2,4-D a "possible human carcinogen."2 These classifications were based on comprehensive assessments of the toxicologic and epidemiologic literature that linked both herbicides to dose-related increases in malignant tumors at multiple anatomical sites in animals and linked glyphosate to an increased incidence of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in humans.

Attorneys are approaching Gregg Levendoski to defend his case after the medical marijuana patient was subject to a militarized raid over two dozen marijuana plants. 60 local, state and federal officers, including SWAT teams, stormed the property and arrested Levendoski, his son and his girlfriend.
It literally was a show of force, as a local news crew was invited along to witness the gross intrusion on civil rights.
