Some Critical Instructions … we will keep this short and sweet. For those that are new to, and those that are about to embark upon the Critical Thinking Tutorials, what you are about to engage in will take discipline and hard work. So lets get started now ... PART 1: In preparation for the Tutorials ahead, we ask that you take the text below from "Shay Keary" of the Courts Office, copy, paste and save the text into a document and then print it out. PART 2: Get yourself some ordinary pens and some highlighter pens, and read though your printed document, underlining and highlighting all of the words, passages, sentences etc. that YOU THINK may be important to address, research/investigate further and/or ask questions about. PART 3: Once you have completed PART 1 and 2 above, put the document away for twenty-four hours and then re-open it, re-read it, and re-think about the material, taking more notes as you go. PART 4: Draft up, what YOU THINK is the most appropriate address/response to the "Shay Keary" letter. Put this "Draft Document" away again for twenty-four hours. When you re-open, review, revise and update as you deem fit and/or appropriate. PART 5: Repeat the re-open, review, revise and update process up to the night before your first tutorial. PART 6: Bring the FINAL DRAFT of YOUR LETTER along to the Tutorial for review. From today 7th. September 2015 until Tuesday 13th. October, you have 35 FULL DAYS to review, revise, update and draft this letter. The Man/Woman involved in this real case was limited to a few days only, and still managed to get it critically addressed. In our view, it should take no more than three or four days to address critically, and therefore 35 FULL DAYS is adequate enough time in anyone's book. We are not saying that YOUR DRAFT LETTER should be absolutely flawless and perfect, but if you have put in an appropriate amount of time, then the Critical Analysis that takes place at the Tutorials, will be a doddle to follow, and will make perfect and logical sense. ... and because of that you may even find it fun. If you can find fun in something, it makes it far easier to learn, or so they say (whoever they are). Book your place at the Critical Thinking Tutorials: www.trivium4.eventbrite.com/ |
